I don't have low times for the F/O position. given the hrs of other candidates i am even 'overqualified' to a certain extend..
I am not sure what will change when i get 30 hrs of TT or ME when i have 1700 and 230 respectively.
Have an interview with Republic on the 17th. I preferred Mesaba because of fast upgrade and relatively easier commute from SEA. Republic bases are very hard to commute from where i am.. but it's a job.

By all means go for the interview w/ Republic but you are right about Mesaba being a good airline for commuting. I commute and I've never had a real problem. I am told over 80% of Mesaba pilots commute and we have a commuter friendly policy.

PNT is by Luggageworks. I do recommend that brand because it is builkt like a tank but they are a bit pricey. Try the Outermarker.com online or the stopover store in Detroit or in MSP.

Yeah. It would also be interesting what this would do to the upgrade awards to those of us not yet eligible to flowthrough. It should make it even better.

I hope you're not asking about what to wear to the interview...

As for the interview, i definetly wore a suit which is what you would assume everyone would do. To my dismay, we had a guy that wore a shirt that was a cross between Johnny Cash and a preacher. It looked like one of those crazy 50's wild west shirts M.J. Fox wore in Back to the Future. He kept talking about "chicks" and cracking "bad" jokes. I was amused someone would act like that at an interview of any sort. Needless to say, I don't think he got hired!

Yeah the first day of class is awesome because strolling around in a suit you stand out like a sore thumb. Then as soon as you get the ALPA presentation everyone will immediately switch to the ALPA lanyard so you dont "look" the new hire. But we know... we know... Just remember, if you're tall and in the Saab, the hat is a priceless piece of safety equipment so you don't hit your head on that damn fire handle over and over and over again. Signed, your neighborhood friendly saab FO who wears the hat.

After the first day the realm of dress is really fairly relaxed. Just remember, no jeans, and your shirt should have a collar (or, you could wear a sweater or turtleneck). Just be comfortable (the training center tends to run cold) and not sloppy. No one is watching what you wear. Just be reasonable.

Hey guys...I was offered the job with Mesaba! I have one quick question...how would you say the training is with Mesaba? I know that it will be a lot of work which I am prepared for but, are the ground and sim instructors pretty good (good teachers and such)?...
