The only aircraft issue worth pushing is if you live (or want to live) in DTW or MEM, and they assign you the CRJ 200. The CRJ 200 should only be going to those who desire a MSP domicile. If you do not want MSP, you should make it clear that you do not want the CRJ 200. All other aircraft are in all 3 domiciles.

Sorry, I meant to call and find out about letting them know about the availability. I don't care what airplane i get. I have my preferences about bases because of commute, but those can be handled within few months of being hired by the bidding process.

Thanks..

Default Street Captain ?'s

Just recently offered a position as a Street Captain on the Saab. What kind of hours can I expect per month on reserve? Is Mesaba block or better? How difficult is training, I will be transitioning from my current job as an RJ FO. How is the overall quality of life as a commuting reserve pilot at Mesaba?

I've got an interview for a street captain position on January 2nd or 3rd. Any insight on the interview would be appreciated.

So I saw the question posted on our ALPA board wondering if pilots are considered hourly or salary in regards to our Christmas Bonus, but no one seems to be able to get a straight answer as to whether or not pilots qualify. Any answers on here??? Thanks

Many moons ago I worked at a "remote site" government contract flight operation. The pilots were salaried but saw "bigger bucks" in being hourly. They took the company to labor law court and got a ruling that they were hourly. After the victory celebration, management reminded them that the contract restricted "housing" to salaried professionals. Pilots with families were forced to move out of "houses" into antiquated mobile homes and the assignment was made "single status" for future hires.

Be careful what you wish for; you may get it.

Does Mesaba make you pay for your own First Class Medicals? Do they make you pay for your SIDA badge at your hub?

Your on your own for the medical. The SIDA badge costs you nothing.....just don't loose it.
