People who live in MSP, or grew up there, really like it. The reason most of us are even at Mesaba is that there is a MSP base. The reason so many are willing to put up with NWA is because they have the same bases as XJ.

Moving your home is OK if you're 20 or in your early 30's. Once you get a bit older, or have a family, especially if you have children, moving sucks.

Why commute if you don't need to? Commuting stinks, too.

MSP is all about convenience. Many MSP pilots have spent years commuting to other bases while waiting for those coveted MSP spots. I don't think too many guys are willing to give it up once they get there.

Most junior MSP SF3 FO award is 748 and I'm 768 so it's looking like it may be within reach soon. As these MSP Saab captains get plucked it should create more movement.

I understand and it works for me, because as a commuter from NY, DTW works better for me. Though I must admit I like the twin cities better than DTW.

Makes sense. Commuting can be nerve wrecking sometimes. I have flown with many senior CAs who are born and raised in MSP area.
Me, I have always had wonderlust so I don't mind moving and I like living in different places. I am thinking about moving out of where I am at.

I'm a couple of numbers above you, I'm hoping by summer time we will be back in MSP. Just in time for some weekends out on Lake Minnetonka

When you keyword search for N407XJ on airliners.net, the first picture has her in the mismatch nose, but you really cant see the red very well, just the grey and white. Might be some others out there.

How did you find out your the second youngest? Everyone that I know that works for Mesaba told me the lower the time the more likely you are to get the CRJ, easier systems wise...
