Planning will decide what equipment you go to. After that, you will bid for an open base accoriding to seniority in your class. If you don't get the base you want in training, you will set up your preference bid online to change base at the earliest opportunity.

The most junior guy (May 2007 hire) got DTW CRJ9 CA slot. RJ is talking about MSP CRJ9 slot.

Oh I see...thanx. Everyone keeps saying that the only equipment newhires would be able to upgrade for a loooong time would be the Saab. I didn't know MSP guys were that "loyal" to their domicile. Im DTW so I guess this is good news.

It seems like the vacancies have slowed a bit and MSP seems stagnant as far as the Saab goes

Talk to a training scheduler today and things are suppose to be slowing down a bit and will pick back up around March

Ok thanks. Is there any rhyme or reason as to what equipment you get? How do they divvy up the 20 people into 4 saab and 16 jet? Do the higher time people get the saab for a faster upgrade?

Thanks a bunch

Yeah. I did learn too that there are many senior people in MSP who will not move for any reason. I am switching base to DTW myself. I am only a few numbers below the guy we are talking about so hopefully I will get DTW CA slot in the next several months.

When is your hire date if you don't mind me asking?

I wish I could tell you how they decide. I am starting to think it is a random number generator.

Im 7/2/07. I chose DTW right away because it's a closer commute to NY where I live, most of the 900's are going there and it's less senior than MSP.

There is only movement in MSP when there is cause for it. On vacancies that have MSP CR9 CA or MSP CRJ CA, you will see movement on the FO list as well. Once the flow to NWA starts, you will also see movement out of MSP. Hang on, you will get there.

thanks. I am a june 07 hire. Yeah. DTW is closer to where I live also. It does look like most of the CRJ9s are going to DTW. I just flew the newest CRJ9 the other day ship 914. I don't know how many slots will be open in MEM but looks like a lot of senior guys live in MEM that's why so many senior people got awarded MEM CRJ9 CA slot. That's actually good news for us.
