Did they replace the throtlle quadrant with a spare from the Avro's?
On a second note I'm having a hard time debating whether to bid for MEM or DTW. Right now I like DTW a little better and have a friend who lives in Ann Arbor. Besides "AA" are there any other areas I should be looking at that are nice and within a 30 minute commute? If I get MEM I have been reading the other thread and have a pretty good idea where I will be going. With that said my budget for housing is max 800$'s and all I need is a 1Bed/1 Bath Apartment. I've done the apartment guide search but you can only get so much info from those.

Life in Ann Arbor is better then most places around DTW. It's a great town. Other places to the east...not so much. Are you going to commute or just plan on moving in?
MEM; it's cheap to live there. The flying is really laid back. 3 banks and 1 1/2 to 2 hrs in between. DTW has 7-8 banks with 20 min turns!
You could try both in the coming months to see which one you would like best. Good luck!!

"SF3 Class Dates: January 14, 2008 Indoctrination Training, January 21, 2008 Upgrade Training
SF3 Class Size: 4 New Hire/Initial, 4 Upgrade
CRJ 900 Class Dates: January 14, 2008 Indoctrination Training, January 21, 2008 Initial Training
CRJ 900 Class Size: 16 New Hire/Initial, 14 Initial"
It won't let me quote it but, does this mean that only 4 new hire spots are available for the Saab, while 16 new hire spots are available on the 900 for the 1/14/08 class date? I guess I am confused at to what the difference between new hire/initial and intial means. Inconclusion this means one would be more likely to get the 900 than Saab during the 1/14 class?

New hire/initial would be brand new people off the street. Initial would mean internal (FO's or CA's currently employed by Mesaba). It's initial because it'll be the pilot's initial training in aircraft type.

You guys better watch out...if word gets out that there are more new hire slots for the 900 vs. SF340, you'll start getting SJSers...ha ha.

Does anyone know the move date for the latest vacancy posted? I tried to call planning but they had already left for the weekend. (I called Friday afternoon).

Some of the old Avro guys flew like they did (autothrottles). That's why ALTS means Add Lots of Torque Stupid!!

Move dates aren't posted on the Vacancy Notices. They are not given to us until the vacancy award, once it's too late to change your mind.
Good luck with your choice. Daddy needs a new pair of shoes!
