Today is my first day in the CRJ200 SIM....I'm going to pretend its a real airplane....because I know it'll probably be another 1-2 months before I get to sit in the real thing.

Thats probably not a bad idea. I called yesterday about my IOE and was told its not that bad on the 900 but on the 200, there are more pilots than airplanes available at this moment. So it could be a while. This job has definitely taught me patience.

Going on 7 weeks since I finished 200 sim training waiting for OE to start. Been here since july and haven't touched a plane yet.

Yeah I'm going on 7 weeks in the 900 since I got done with the sims/loft without a PC. Now I'm being told to expect another month off. The schedulers in the training department really need to get the current situation in order. Why send 1 new crew through in 3 weeks when they could use those sim sessions to finish up 5 crews who have been waiting for months? Just doesn't make much sense to me, but what do I know, I'm only a pilot

it's growing pains it's better than being displaced on a reduction award. Paid time off doesn't happen often take it from another oldtimer, enjoy it you'll be flying for the rest of your career. tHere will be many times you will wish you were home for some family event but are out on the line.

Ive been right where you are now. I got two months off right when I was ready to take my PC. When I finally returned to Denver, I got to do my oral again (cake, by the way) and only 2 scheduled warm-ups. I was able to get a third and passed with no problem. The process was extremely frustrating to say the very least and I wonder how it could be so disorganized. It all seemed so 'disconnected'. But they do know you're out there. My comfort was..."hey, let em pay me for 5 months to do nothing, I can dig it."

That's not bad for sitting on your rear for two months straight.
