When you checkin at STL look behind you there's a bar. Warning it's a "swordfest" and they're all pilots. So that pick up line you usually use "I'm an airline pilot" won't work with the one girl at the bar. Besides she's probably a Stewy. I learned a lot about the SAAB with fellow pilots over a few beers. Less stressfull environment. Have fun down there but not too much.

Recheck your prefernce bid on mymesaba. There's an error there luckily there's many vacancy notices to come. Hopefully no reduction notices.

That's got to be a mistake because there's a ton of guys who are bidding MSP who are currently DTW.....I'm bidding every a/c and every seat in MSP before DTW.

Hmmm, curious...it is possible planning actually meant MEM instead of MSP. I am sure we'll see a revision for other reasons anyway, so stay tuned.

Seat lock info:
1. When you become seat locked.
Once you come on property as an FO, you are seat locked for three years in that position. If after three years you have not had the chance to upgrade, you can bid to another airplane as an FO.
Once you start class for the captain slot you are locked into that position. After you successfully complete upgrade training, the 24 month clock starts. If you fail, you go back to the previous position held and are not seat locked.
Example: awarded SF340 CA on the 5th of November training to start the 20th of Nov. Pilot sees he can hold 900 captain on same vacancy can request it if their seniority can hold it and it doesn't displace another pilot who was not an alternate. Once the pilot reports for training he is seat locked until the completion of training. When he is released from training to the line the 24month seat lock clock starts ticking.
2. When are seat locks released.
When 24 months of total service as a captain in the aircraft you originally upgraded to. A displacement would release you of such lock. i.e. If you were displaced from SF340 CA you can go to CRJ CA.
To prevent the hiring of a street captain..... When a vacancy is issued and no one is bidding that CA slot, the company will release 1 individual pilot in seniority order from their seat lock to prevent the hiring of a street captain. All other pilots remain seat locked until the prevention of hiring a street captain.
This means that if an FO is currently holding out for a 900 CA slot he will get awarded the 900 slot over a seat locked S3 CA, even if if the company is actively hiring street captains for the 900. i.e. If a vacancy is issued for 10 900 Captains and 5 FO's are able to hold it, requiring 5 street capatins, 5 senior pilots will be released from seat lock to cover the street hires. However, on the next vacancy, if junior FO's reach enough time to upgrade, they will be awarded those captain slots even though the company has released some locks on the previous vacancy.
In other words, the 900 CA slots may not bottom out the list because there probably will be enough FO's reaching ATPs mins before a street CA is needed.
So I caution you guys to choose your options wisely.
