I'm in week 2 and the impression I have so far is that they don't have enough people to fly these things. All of them will be based in MSP flying routes the same (I believe) routes that Pinnacle flew with the planes. Reserve time will be short if any. I'm worried about how long I'll sit before IOE (maybe 30 days) , but after that....we'll easily bank near 100 hours. That's the impression I have any ways.
Good to hear well be able to get some hours. Hows is the training so far? All indoc Im guessing. I was told to expect the 200 on the 19th and just trying to get an idea of what to expect.

They are having some problems with the crews who have Flight Safety instructors not teaching the calls and profiles right....check airman had to discontinue one crew's ride because of it, but they are working it out. The sims in MSP are much better, I'm glad we are going back up there to finish.

Gotcha, well good luck with the rest of training.......

p.s. Watch out for the negative Autocoarsen, it's a doosey..

Lines are very low right now. Low block and low credit (70-75 block/credit). Reserve is non existent currently. You go right from IOE to whatever line is open or a schedule is built to cover what flying is not covered already. It will be a long time before you can bank 100 hours in a month. First of all, as I said the lines are very low credit, and there isn't any open time to pick up now because that time is used for training. There is always the favored Junior Man though.

The problem is NOT the amount of people to fly them. There are several captains and FO's that are awaiting on IOE. The problem lies in there are not enough instructors to get people done. Most of the instructors are both 900 and 200 qualed and the focus right now has been 900. Which I have heard there are barely enough people to cover the 900 routes. Once that gets squared away the 200 should start moving. You most likely will sit 30 days or more for IOE. There are people that have sat over 60 days. Consequently it is going to be very hard for them to complete there consolidated knowledge in the 120 days.

So what your saying is after sim you will sit possibly 30 days or more before IOE and this is all paid? What are people doing before IOE then? Is there something you can do or do you just sit around until you get the call?

Hard to say how long you will sit. Most likely you will sit for a little while. I sat 17 days. My partner is still sitting (64 days). And there are people still waiting to finish checkrides from my class and the one before. Just depends on how the stars align for you I guess. All that time is paid (min guarantee). I would just enjoy the time that you have off. You are going to wish that you had it later on.

It can all be frustrating. Im coming to the end of a 2 month long "break" between sims and my checkride. What keeps me going, is the free money, though not much, and the growing seniority list. When its all said and done we are still better off here at XJ for that reason alone than many other places. Lets just hope things keep moving forward.

I got hired with about 660/54 but I have heard of some people getting hired with less than the published mins. We don't seem to have any trouble filling classes.

Yeah I noticed that too. Duracell is the best and gave me 3 weeks of flight instructing. Energizer about 2 weeks.
