I don't know about others but if you like your bag on the overnights it seems like the ramp recognizes the purdy neets the easiest and travelpros for the most part after that your taking chances your bag will be on the carosell in CMX or ATW or where ever else its pulled when on a CWA overnight.

i been looking over these pages to compare what some of the TT were for the new hires and its looking at around 500 and 50 for the low timers--- i know the published min are at 600/50. Although, has anyone seen people in the 400 range or lower. Trying to get an idea of when i should put in an app since two friends have also gotten class dates with around 500 TT. thanks for the imputs

Simply said, If you are prepared for the interview, then apply. The worst that they can say is no. Good luck!

Just talked with a couple of the guys that do the hiring at Mesaba on Friday... they said the average new hire has around 300-500 TT right now. In other words, GET YOUR APP IN ASAP!

Good luck!

I had a guy in my class with 270 hours! That, on top of the fact that there was a guy who just upgraded in 34 days (he already came in with ATP mins) means that things are rapidly changing at Mesaba. To put it in context, the upgrading captains in my class had been with the company 7 years, so the upgrade went from 7 years to a matter of days in only a few months.

The guys who have been around for awhile are a bit concerned that we'll have 1500 hour captains new to the Saab sitting next to sub-300 hour FOs and its obvious consequences. I have to say I'm concerned too.

I applied online with my meager 270/8 and they said no to me (which I fully expected). Then, last week Tuesday one of my best buddies from high school who is an F/O there walked in my app to HR with a letter of recommendation. They haven't called yet. He had a guy in his new hire class with 250TT. He thinks I should be getting a call, but I'm starting CFI training anyway. Those guys with 250-300 must have had some pretty good connections.
