I start class on Nov. 5th and I am wondering if we get a discount on travelpro luggage? If so, how much? I found a 22'' rollerboard for 180.00 online and they go for 400.00 at the department stores. Just wondering if I should get that one or wait until I get to school! Thanks for the help and all of the info! Oh yeah, when do you usually find out what plane you are on?

They didn't tell you your aircraft when they offered you the job?

They told me that I would know in about a week. It has just been barely over a week now, I am just a bit anxious to find out!

$180 for a TravelPro? You can get a FlightCrew2 22" for $120 at the StopOver Store. (Crew discount is already figured into their prices.) Pick it up at the MSP store when you come for training or get in on-line to bring with.

If you get the Saab, I really do recommend the Pelican Case. It is the best for longevity in that aircraft. (See my post a page or two back).

What do you all think about the Purdy Neat brand bags? I have heard that they are much better than Travelpro.

Personally I prefer the Purdy Neat (Luggage Works) over the TravelPro. I have the standard issue flight crew 22" Purdy Neat black bag. It looks like a crew bag, never gets lost but the Saab has been rough on it. I feel sad for it. The guys I fly with that have have the Pelican, that thing could get sucked into the 757 engine, spit out and your clothes would be dry and nothing smashed. The regular crew bags, Purdy Neat etc. are all soft on the top, so things get crushed in there, my cracker jacks, my cans of nuts, my oatmeal cups etc. The Pelican is the only way to go. When my Purdy Neat dies, it is the only thing I will consider.

To each his own though. People make anything work.

(This is not a paid advertisement and I do not work for Pelican )

Beware of TravelPro - avoid at all costs unless you want to replace your bag every three months! Couldn't be happier now that my TravelPro is trash and my LuggageWorks StealthNG is following me around the terminal ;-)
