Thumbs up Interview Offer @ Pinnacle

I sent in my resume to CC yesterday and had an invitation reply an hour later when I returned home.

I am interested in info from experienced Pinnacle crews concerning potential upgrade times and basing. I would also like to hear from those who have had interviews within the last month concerning posted gouge accuracy and any other info they deem pertinent.

From the experienced guys:

How junior is MEM and what's the chatter concerning an ATL base (I live in BHM). Are there any postings for people to enter the training department and is acceptance based upon seniority.

Not the CEO.....

I am flying part time and don't meet recency requirements for the Majors.

I own a business related to the housing industry and things are really slowing down here. I consider this an opportunity to return to aviation full time and pursue my business as a sideline.

I don't have a degree and would use my away time to work on completing it.

Helium3,

Pinnacle has been sending guys with CA requirments to upgrade right after initial training. Not sure about holding MEM right away, Ill have to look it up. No announcements on the CRJ 900 base yet, possible ATL but just speculation.. Its a great opportunity if you are in that position, and great experience. Dont listen to all the negatives you hear, good place to work. Negotiations start back up on the 16th of May with the mediator. Very close to a contract, but have compensation and scope left which are the biggest hurddles.

Wish the Best...

Hey there helium. MEM is a senior base, but that is not saying you cant have it out of training, or just a few months there after. Things are really looking up here. I Have been here a little under 2 years and enjoy it. I have 13 days off this month (by choice, probably could have had 15 or so) all 2 day trips,, MY FAVORITE. I am only gone 9 nights this month. go to work in the morning, done before noon the next day. Upgrades are as fast as you can get in. They have announced they will staff the 16 900's with a 5:1 crew. So they will need 80 capts, and 80 fo's, just to staff those planes, and thats not counting the captains and fo's we have leaving every month. contract negotiations are wrapping up, but like mentioned before scope, and pay are left and those can be buggers, especially since we aren't bending over on either. any way, we have 3 or 4 flights a day to bhm and it isn't that bad a commute. good luck. If you have anymore questions just pm me, or post it here.

Thanks Airsupport....more encouraging news.

I am a little concerned about the interview as it has been almost a decade since my last.

I interviewed and was hired in March, and the gouges at that time were very accurate.

Good luck on your interview, check out aviationinterviews.com, look at the gouge and you should be fine. I believe you will be offered CA vacancy if things continue the way they are. MEM is a mixed bag for CA, we have some really junior CA, but the top 10% of the company (lifers) are mostly based in MEM.

If you live in MEM, you won't hate 9E as much as most of my colleagues. When you're on reserve, you'll probably do anything from a simple out and back, to a full blown 4 day trip. MEM trips aren't too bad, no early show, no red eye, comparing to MSP and DTW.

I can see the end of the tunnel when we do sign the contract. But I can also tell you most of us would rather burn down the house than sign a crappy contract. The newer FO are starting to get the gist, because our lowest 2nd FO pay in the whole industry, and the fact that we hired a LOT of low time guys (<1000 Ttl time), and most of them will certainly see 2nd year FO pay. The quicker mgmt realizes they're stalling the company's growth, the sooner we can leave this ugly chapter behind us.

Thanks Yzerman.....

Did the written Qs cover any specific area or were they essentially drawn from the entire ATP written?
