Default DCA Rosslyn & No GS LDA 19

Any 'tricks of the trade' that anyone can pass on to making a pretty approach w/o having to chop and drop? I did my first one in the sim today...and it was interesting to say the least.

Thanks,
Lax

In my unimportant opinion...you want to dive-and-drive. The sooner you break out the better position you'll be in to follow the river at your pace instead of feeling rushed when Rosslyn and the big-ass cranes there are staring you in the face.

When you are doing the river visual to runway 19 @ DCA use the VASI for runway 15 as soon as you can. This will help you be in a better position when you make the turn to final for 19.

yeah, this is basic instrument stuff. When you are on a localizer only approach you dont take your sweet time getting down to the mda. you get down and hope you get a break before you get to the missed approach point. it is a lot easier to be stable when you see the runway before the missed approach point then mabey taking the chance of not being low enough when you get there.
