Best Regional out of ORD
The 4 I'm looking at are Skywest, Republic, Air Whiskey & Envoy.
**I would prefer the E175 due to more efficient flying**
Skywest: Super junior, flies the E175 out of ORD, getting more E175's @ ORD. Will maybe have to go to LGA but not for long if ORD is junior. Only bad thing is lowest pay, no bonuses.
Republic: Flies the E175, Great pay and pretty good bonus. ORD though is, from what I've heard on here, a dying/senior base
Air Whiskey: Could get ORD out of training, Bonuses are huge$$$. Cons are they fly older CRJ200's (More preflighting/terminal sitting not getting paid, unlike the longer legged E175)
Envoy: Tbh don't really know much about them, but they have a ORD base. I don't know if it's only a CRJ base.
Any input would be awesome. I have an interview with Skywest soon, any input would be awesome!

Envoy you won't get the E175 out of training unless you're prior 121, or already an envoy cadet that has signed the bottom line. Then, even if you *did* get the E175 as an FO, once you hit captain upgrade mins, you're going to get displaced onto the 145 and be NYC based like it or not.

This is not accurate regarding getting ORD E175 as a new hire.

I work for skywest, based in ORD, and I would go to envoy followed by republic. My first choice would be envoy for the flow. From what I've heard, envoy and the flow are far from perfect. That being said I kick myself in the butt all the time wishing I went somewhere with a flow. It's an awesome backup plan. I fly with plenty of guys who have been at skywest for 5, 10, 15 years with great resumes that aren't getting hired. I've flown with guys who've had interviews at the big 3 and just didn't get a call back. If you go to skywest or republic you have to live with the fact that you might not go anywhere else. That is a very real reality for a lot of pilots an non wholly owned regionals. If you go to envoy, you don't carry that burden.
Second, don't worry about airframe. When I went to skywest I was dead set on the 175. I really wanted to fly it. I and was talked out of it because I would have sat reserve longer, made less money, accrued flight hours slower, upgraded slower, and would have wished I went CRJ. When you get to the airlines, you no longer care which airplane you're on. You care about days off, the quality of your line, and your paycheck. Period. You don't think it's true, but it is.
If I was you, I would go to envoy, take the fat bonus, fly whatever airplane is junior in chicago, get your apps out to the airline of your choice, and sit happy knowing you have a flow to AA. Once you're at mainline, then you can worry about airframe.

If you do decide to go to skywest, and I don't know why you would, we just voted down a pay agreement and management is not returning to the table as of now....take the CRJ. Yes it's not as flashy but you'll sit reserve for a month as opposed to a year, and upgrade a lot faster. Plus you'll get to see all the small towns and fly all the crazy approaches into them that the 175 doesn't go to.

Think the long game when making your choice even if it means eating dog food for a couple of years.
