Default Health Insurance / Medical Benefits

I haven’t been able to find a lot of information about the medical benefits / health insurance at the regionals.

Could the pilots in this forum give the group a little insight in to the health insurance cost and coverage at their perspective airlines.

Ideally looking for the cost for families, being that single employee rates are probably all fairly comprable and not a huge concern for single pilots.

It varies widely. If health insurance is an important point for you, look into Air Wisconsin...they have their issues, but insurance has traditionally been best in the regionals, if not the bigger carriers too.

At SkyWest with a family the cost of the PPO is $540 a month. The high deductible plans runs $310 a month or $200 a month depending on the deductibles. The company puts $300 a quarter into the HSA if you have one of the high deductible plans.

I'm not sure how long you have to be an employee until you can sign up.. 1-3 months?
