I think it is bull that they don't disclose on how they stand, it is not like they are talking about top secret classified info here. That is what gets me the most. We can all just sit here and speculate and start or hear rumors, but none of us really know for sure until a contract does come out. I really don't agree with just a few representing all 1200 of us. Because there are surely some ideas that I heard from Wake Gordan and some of the other radical union guys that I personally think are a little bit ridiculous. But lets all hope that this thing gets signed within the near future, I don't think that mgmt will let it get to the point where anyone strikes.

I know it is frustrating to not be in the know and to be honest with you I wish i knew more than we did but back when negotiations started, the union did a survey of what we want in our next contract and when they got the results from that survey, they said that is what they are going for and they have stuck too it so far. They also said this was going to be a long drawn out process and that we should be prepared for anything. I know sometimes its hard to trust the union and sometimes you feel frustrated that your 2% is going to nothing, but when you get frustrtated just thnk back to last fall when we were getting letters saying we were all going to lose our jobs if we dont sign a contract. nothing happened

The mngmt at Mesa is starting to get desperate as well and we haven't even started the long fight Pinnacle has endured. All the same guys, if we are ever going to make some leadway on all these contracts I think now is the time. They are short of peeps, and they know it.
Not to steal someones thunder but I believe the Mesaba pilot's got 'Balls-o-Steel' for going through two (2004, 2006) contract negotiations back to back. From the 'almost strike' fleet parking to 'almost liquidating' last minute TA!!!

Hang in there.

to be honest you should have let the ship sink instead of taking cuts... now you guys are owned by nwa, and being part of the red tail family we all know how that is going to turn out... just my opinion but taking a lower contract is what pinnacle did 5 years ago to save the company,, now look where we are, it wont happen again.

Not to get in a pi**ing match but...

We did take a pay cut to help our bankrupt company BUT we negotiated a snap-back provision. Every MESABA employee was ready to walk. But in the 11th hour (11th and 59 mins) an agreement was reached. Being owned by NWA 'IS' better then being owned by Mair any day!! They bent us over and wouldn't even provide bankruptcy exit financing (well they did but later withdrew the offer) nice company.

Mesaba and the unions did a great job and should be commended. Some didn't feel that way and they left. Some are doing very well and probably need the kick in the shorts. Mesaba is/was/will be a good place to work. The red tail orphans should work together not against each other.

Good Luck 9E...we're pulling for you!!

i agree with all this. yeah, im not trying to start a pi ssing or saying you guys did the wrong thing. I am speaking more from the point that our management cant be trusted. They have said 5 times that if we dont sign this contract then pinnacle is in danger of going away. We not only said no but HELL NO!!! Ask anyone that has been here 5 years or more and they can still remember the day everyone met in mem ops and phil said, if we don't get the crj's they are going to have to close the doors, we need this contract now. so it was signed. Fool us once shame on you, fool us twice, shame on us.

Now the news is that management wants the mec to let the pilots vote on their offer. While I trust the MEC and we voted them in I kind of hope they let us see it. There was a survey by the company not to long ago that said how satisfied are you with the company. 98% of pilots voted and 86% said they werent satisfied. If they bring that vote to us and its crap, I am confident we will vote it down in the same way
