But the public wants the ILLUSION of frequency even if it means cancellations and major delays caused by too many airplanes into too small an airport. Like LGA. Or hourly flights to ORD from a place like MKE when bi-hourly flights we more than suffice on a 737.
In Europe the airport authorities set a max number of movements per hour and capped it. Not that it is a utopia there, but there seems to a bit of a less of a race to the bottom over there.
Anyway, Mr. Rooski is right. There is no reason to flood the skies with RJs when small Boeings or Airbuses can do the same job every 90 minutes or 120 minutes more comfortably and cheaper than 2 RJs every 45 minutes.
But the genius MBAs who run the show don't get that for some reason.....

Thanks for the good discussion guys and gals, I agree with the statement that I have been at pinnacle and therefore I have only seen the bottom end of the payscale and should shoot higher, but if we are able to get a good contract, maybe we can raise the bar for other groups to go higher. Its got to start somewhere. Whatever we get, another pilot group should try to better us. I just wish ALPA could get the same pay rates and work rules for every regional they work for. There is no reason that we should have different pay and rules than AWAC, XJ, XJet when we all are in the same union and fly the same type of planes.
