Default Atp cts after interviews

I am applying next week I have 2500 hours and 500 multi with no atp.

It looks like most of the regionals will pay for the course so you can get your written knocked out before class. Is this correct? What does this timeline look like from after interview?

Follow-up question:

Is there any typical time commitment/contract if a regional pays for your CTP/ATP and checkride?

I got hired in Aug/Sep. When you talk to the recruiters on the phone, they will tell you how each company does ATp/CTP. Most seem to send you there the week prior to Indoc. Some companies do have a repayment for the class, some don't. Again, ask each company.

The class I went to had a price of $4975 plus the test. Since the airline is also paying your hotel, that is another cost if you went and paid yourself.

I decided to just byte the bullet and go get it done this week at ATP. I figured since I have been out of flying for a while it will help me get up to speed to get a job and get the written done which should get me a class date sooner.

I guess if you don’t need the $5k, then sure. You can get up to speed my doing some sim work: approaches, holding, etc. Sheppard air for the written. Other than that, ground school will teach you everything you need to know.

Default Pay for ATP/CTP?

Don’t do it, your new employer will happily pick up the tab and pay for your hotel. Just get Sheppard a week or two before you show up. Also, talk to your recruiter and get the memory items and limitations, so you can start memorizing those.
