Is Voluntarily Leaving Training a Failure?
In either AQP or standard training, if it makes a difference?
Just curious, if one was to be hired by one carrier and started indoc/ground school, then resigned and left after getting called by another carrier, would voluntarily leaving the first training be recorded as a failure for PRIA?
Would that short stint with the first company be reportable flying employment under PRIA?
Never mind the ethics of the issue, just curious about the hypothetical.
TIA.

Did you fail training: No.
Do you have to report on PRIA: Yes.
Does the application say did you fail to complete any phase of training: Yes

If you show up to day 1 of indoc, you're a pilot there for good/bad/indifferent.
It used to be that you were pulled aside by another pilot and it was explained that you had two options (if you were a good guy but just not getting it): quit and withdraw from training or be fired. Thus why the apps are worded the way they are.

This happens all the time ..You start ground school at a carrier then your dream job calls.
You will have to report that short stint under PRIA but it’s not a failure .If asked about it verbally or application make sure you answer honestly ..Companies understand career advancement and why pilots leave one company for another .
