What is the toughest part of training?

Any degree requirement is waived if you are going to AA via the flow through agreements at one of the WO regionals (this is negotiated in the contract).
Any degree requirement is not waived if you’re applying OTS (which you can also do) while working at one of the WO regionals.

What's that got to do with the price of tea in China? Point was - the degree is not a requirement when flowing through AA WO's, and a degree is not required to be hired by them. It's in the contract.

Instrument training is the hardest most people find. The CFI checkride is the hardest besides that.
The time build between 250 and 1500 is excruciating and tedious... flying small piece of crap aircraft around that could break anytime, working for shady and cut throat people, and if you're instructing, having to deal with students who will try to kill you and barely speak English.

Yes, definitely. I'm not advocating not getting a good education, I'm just saying it's not a requirement to make it to majors through that route.

To the people wondering about whether or not a four year degree is necessary for your “now” job not your “future” job - No, it isn’t necessary. There will be time for getting a four year degree in the next downturn.

I find myself mostly ageeing with Sonicflyer, except that the 121 training/checkride is certainly head and shoulders tougher than the CFI/CFII/MEI/IGI training/written tests/checkride. But, then again, I’m old, it is all hard at my age!!
