The drive to DAY isn't that bad from DTW. Not ideal, but sure beats commuting by air...

Whats the current base seniority from most junior to most senior for FO's and Captains in the different PSA bases?

Friend of mine hired this year got day in a month. Not too bad. Drives to work, kinda similar situation. A two hour drive to base is light years better than a two hour commute by air.

Fwiw...I like it here at 9E and would recommend it highly, but don't come here if you're looking for DTW or MSP. You will likely hate it unless you love reserve.

All that "me time" ain't worth it.
To each their own. You can either embrace it or be miserable. My family prefers warmer climes. So I sacrifice the commute so they can live in a place that doesn’t involve shoveling snow or getting dressed like the Michelin man just to get the mail. I don’t mind the cold as much because it’s just me, where as my wife would have to take on the added brunt of dealing with the NE weather on her own when I’m gone.

“Personal reasons” as in a criminal history?
