An interviewer keeping a logbook?

Generally this is not the way to go. What airline did your friend interview with? I would have a hard time finding a reason to hold onto a pilots logbook after an interview, unless there was a security issue.
Logbooks are so valuable to a pilot that most will rarely let them out of sight for more than a review by an interview panel. How long did they keep the logs and what was the airlines reasoning?
Good Luck

I would have to agree. They would've had a hard time getting out of the room without me following them! I definately have never heard of some one leaving their books with someone else. I get nervous just bringing mine out on the road to fill out apps. because I'm affraid some ramper will offload my bag or something.

You'd have to pry it away from my dead hands. If an interviewer wanted to keep my logbook I wouldn't care if I got the job or not, HE'S NOT GETTING IT........PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have the ability to find out what happened?

If they take your logbook for review, that's fine...but you NEVER, EVER leave the building without your legal record of your flight times.
Even if it was so blatantly pencil-whipped Stevie Wonder could have seen it was falsified, any airline rep has absolutely no right to keep your property.
I agree, something don't sound right here...

I have heard of stuff like this happening but I can't for the life of me figure out how they would verify that time if they wanted to. What are they going to do call every mom and pop FBO that someone has ever rented from?
Disclaimer: I am in no way encouraging or condoning this type of behavior.
