Default Good Money at Comair during Training

If anyone is interested...I am about to finish up training here at Comair. I was very impressed with the overall training facilities, instructors, and pay...YES PAY!!! You only make $250 a week (all of which is taxable) as a base pay. Since everyone is initially assigned JFK, we all make perdiem 24/7 until we leave training and return to our domicile. The perdiem was recently cut to $1.55 per the new contract. Since this is not taxed it comes out to over $1,100 a month. Add it all up and your making $2,000.00 a month (after taxes!!) You also get your own room at a quality hotel with free wireless internet, shuttle, and hair dryer. That's right...your own personal hair dryer. Should we make more money? Hell Yeah! I just got my direct deposit today and it's all there.

Sounds good. I was kinda frowning on the 250 per week put when i heard about perdiem that almost doubles it. I was affraid of taking a pay cut. We'll see how things go when you get to the line. I start on Monday! Lookin foward to it! How did training go? Anything to watch out for?

Congrats on the job.

Eagle has a similar thing, but instead of $250 a week, you make an hourly monthly rate of @ 65 hours? It's been a while since I went through, but it's close to that. Round the clock per diem and choice of base prior to signing on.

Training went well. It was very straight forward. I still have my checkride next week, but I'm sure it will go OK.

16 hours per diem, not round the clock

Pinnacle is round the clock perdiem from the time you pass your check ride, till you finish oe and after your 6 moving days. can be like 3-4 weeks, so the perdiem check is friggin sweat!! and our pay is 200 bucks a week tax free.

One time check for just a little under $1500. I think I got mine in the second week of training. Double occupancy hotel, positve space home and back during training if you want. Go to line garuantee after you pass your PC.

They used to do free breakfast at the hotel but I heard that got yanked.

Ouch, but thanks dojetdriver.

Any idea how long it's taking from the first day of training till the the PC at this stage? Last I heard, there was a wait between sim and IOE of 2-5 weeks.
