Racism against foreign pilots

And what affect do you think this has on pilot wages in the US?

What's your point? The same can be said for anyone based in DTW
Not good, but also not much if any affect at all. The reason is because there aren't many foreigners beating down the doors to make $30,000 flying RJs over here in the first place.

Judging from the OP's only other post, it seems like he's been in this country, flying on and off, for several years. So he's quite possibly an American and using the word "foreigner" incorrectly. Things like this tend to get lost in translation when reading online text from someone who can speak more than one language. So, hopefully that makes at least some difference in some of you people's sentiments....There should be zero issues here with an American that happens to have dark skin or an unfamiliar accent.

Supply and demand. Why does a C5 commander have to start at a regional in the US?

(BTW, most pilots who are based in DTW commute in.)

May I ask what your point is? Is that an excuse to exhibit bias and racism here? Especially towards Americans with "foreign" accents?
What's wrong with a high-paying contract job? Certainly attractive to people on furlough or who can't afford to net less than $30,000 as a regional FO.

The guy that quoted you originally pretty much summed it up.
I NEVER posted that ANYTHING was an excuse
Where does it say that a C5 commander had to start at a regional?

Is it so hard to believe that an occupation that has traditionally been dominated by older, conservative white males might have a streak of racism? When PSA was growing I heard and read several comments about the Eastern accents a lot of their new pilots seemed to have, as if it were some kind of problem. I won't even dive into all the comments I've heard about women, minorities, and lgbt people when it comes to getting the next job.
At the same time, OP, if you are looking for some kind of safe space, you are looking in the wrong industry. Be professional, friendly, and do your job and you'll be fine pretty much anywhere. But to answer your question: SkyWest, PSA, Commutair, and Piedmont are probably better choices to find what you seek. They are junior, more diverse carriers.

But airline pilots in general are going to be more tolerant than society in general, due to the fact that they're educated and have typically traveled for both work and pleasure.
Don't go looking for trouble where there doesn't need to be any.
