You're off base. Interpreting Hackers comments as you have is unfortunate. Looking out for and doing what is actually little to no skin off his back to help another brother pilot is just what is expected in our world. If that's foreign to you please don't project your own selfishness onto the rest of us.

I've had both former mil AND civilian pilots practically give me the shirt off their back helping me further my aviation career. Any further efforts to disparage what is simply helping out a fellow pilot is pure douchbaggery.

Likewise. Not worried about round 2, getting ready to pull the trigger on Plan B, and getting out of aviation all together. Can't stomach putting my family through this for much longer. My planned drop dead date has been 1/1/2018 since SkyWest bought us. Turning in that resignation is going to be the best Christmas present I could give my wife and three kids.

I've seen some of the names of the "4 month CA's" at DAL. Please forgive my "ignorance" of their application, but I KNOW SOME OF THEM. I'm not sure job fair attendance and all that (fake) volunteer stuff they put on their resume is going to make them a good MD captain......

Also, AboveMins has got to deal with the consequences/fallout of a system right now that, shall we say has been completely FUBAR'd by a certain HR rep over a bruised ego. And that's putting it very very nicely.........



Nice to see that someone "gets it". Thanks for trying to explain it to those who don't!

Off base? Sorry, I've helped plenty of guys all the way from 0 to current legacy. As in, the shirt off my back to help guys. Where have you read I haven't? Please show me? Please post where that's a foreign concept to me. You don't have to join the military and be an F-teen pilot to do that, sorry. I'm just a lowly civilian. But weird I can do that too. Just didn't feel the need to brag about it. You know, conforming to Hacker's mantra, how do you know unless you've asked that person SPECIFICALLY? Somenthing about douchebaghery? You're making ASSumptions.

More than one contacted me, asking what my "secret" was that helped me get hired so quickly and, in one guy's words, "out of seniority". When I sent them my resume, they seemed surprised to learn I was a retired military pilot with a ton of things on my resume that they had no idea about, and had been flying professionally since they were in elementary school.

My advice is, instead of raging at the machine -- because the only people that control this process are the folks at the majors who are inviting people for interviews and handing out CJOs -- is ask those "little experience" FOs for a copy of their application and their advice on what they did to get the call.
That was some "friendly fire" by those guys.

It's sad to say but most pilots are just plain stupid. They agree with the system that exists today. Walk away from the regionals and watch how quickly they disappear. For the naysayers there is life beyond a regional but they don't want to see that.
