It's more or less the user of PBS - it's a complicated son-of-a-B to learn - PSP based - 4 days 19ish hours of credit - start a 4 day tomorrow out of SAN with 21 credit. Flying the LAX system pretty much sucks - over worked, under payed - quick legs = wasted duty time on the ground

No - It's a trade off.....Live and work in SoCal and work like a dog for minimal compensation....or commute to DEN, SLC, ORD etc..and have a better work schedule and better compensation. Commuting sucks. If you live close to DEN, SLC, ORD - fly the jet...it's a no brainer.

yeah, nothing to do with PBS...they create the pairings before it goes out to bid. without PBS, they'd still create the pairings, put them into hard lines, then go out to bid. same pairings. complaints are about the pairing constructs, not about the concept of PBS as a system. we need to make sure we're complaining about the right things! if they make better pairings, we'll be in much better shape overall.
