How many accidents were directly related to a low timer being in the cockpit?
Putting a FO with 500hrs in the right seat won't change anything....
Give me a few good reasons why it's bad to let a low time FO work the radios and things like that... (and NO what if scenarios)

Like it's some movie and the young kid knows but has to land the airplane...
If captain becomes unconscious, dies, hell if he FLIES out the cockpit window, the FO would be able to land the plane without ANY problem....
I don't know what the big deal is
They train you for all that.

I said that because everyone on here keeps giving the SAME what if scenario ...the infamaous "what if your captain becomes unconscious"
Like it's some g0dd@mn movie and the young kid knows sH!t but has to land the airplane...

The public doesn't even know what airline they are flying on most the time...ask someone from the public if they know who mesa is or colgan...they don't have a clue they think they are flying on the legacy carriers just in smaller planes...they assume the guys up front are making tons of money for transporting them safely...the public has no idea how many hours you have nor would they consider that when buying their ticket online...lowest bidder wins...it sucks but thats business
p.s. - I wish i made more money

No it wasn't. My point was that, in my fantasy, we would inform the public which airlines have chronically disgruntled pilots and hire with ridiculously low minimums to fill in for the ones that leave. People would say, "hey, I don't want to fly on THAT airline!", and they'd be forced to attract and retain pilots the old fashioned way (I mean money there joeshmoe). That extremely low timers would have to put in more hours as CFIs is just a bonus side effect, but they'll begin to see it's worth it when they are making an actual living wage in their first airline job.
I was also careful not to specify what I consider low time. Unless you think 190 hours is plenty. If that's the case, well soon I'll know just as much as everyone on this board and don't need to take advice cause I'll have learned everything there is about flying! Hooray for me!
