Delta takes over all ASA ops in ATL June 1
Delta announced yeaterday that they will excercize a provision of our contract to replace ASA in operating the DCI hub in ATL. Effective June 1 all a ASA employees in ATL will be replaced with Delta emoplyees. This effects ramp, gate, ops, catering, cleaning, fueling. ASA will only employ pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, and management. "Some" ASA employees will be offered the opportunity to interview at Delta and will not be given seniority or longevity. ASA management is predicting a loss of over 1700 jobs in ATL.

Regardless, that's not what the ASA employees are being told at the roadshows. And quite honestly, most of our below wing employees wouldn't make the cut at Delta due to attitude or drug problems. You don't get Delta quality when you pay your below wing employees $6 per hour.

Yes, we all know the AJC to be an accurate and authoritative source on the goings on at Delta
Regardless, that's not what the ASA employees are being told at the roadshows. And quite honestly, most of our below wing employees wouldn't make the cut at Delta due to attitude or drug problems. You don't get Delta quality when you pay your below wing employees $6 per hour.

Although, it might be a precursor for you losing other things as well.

Hard to imagine that Delta will give ASA and their little aircraft the same level of service that they give their own 767's...I don't know a lot about this topic, but I wonder how much ASA will really improve...
