I called it about a month ago. No way they were going to find 1000 pilots with mins of 1500/300.

Helo flying demands more hand-eye skills, but they are DIFFERENT skills. The airlines are looking for folks whose reactions in a fixed-wing airplane are correct and second-nature...that instinctive reaction to stall or a x-wind gust in the flare is what they are getting at. The instrument procedures also differ somewhat.

But with mins dropping like flies, it is probably a moot point anyway.

Dumb question - but these mins apply for all three certificates, correct? Republic, Chautauqua, Shuttle America

No - you still need 1500/300 for the E170 (S5 and RP).
