This is no joke. Since 2014, Delta has hired fewer than 40 Endeavor pilots outside of the SSP as OTS applicants. That is a fact.
What I have heard through the rumor mill, is that DL does not like to rob from their own WO beyond the pilots they are obligated to take via the contractually agreed upon SSP.

You'd have to know that a regional of comparable size sent a significantly higher amount to prove your point.
In the future the numbers will be skewed due to available applicants that have >3000tt are a captan want to leave and haven't already been through the ssp with a negative outcome. Only those pilots are people getting "skipped" in order to not drain the company's staffing levels.

The 9E MEC is running out of time. They need to get this straightened out within 12 months. No reason this needs to be shelved (a real/legitimate pathway to DAL). Management and our union have a decent working and respectable relationship (finally) which could easily move this forward now that the HR and recruiting culture at DAL is changing. There are many in your boat waiting to pull the trigger for an AA feeder. It's really the only wise choice 9E pilots have at this point (unless they love vegas odds).

But by all means, lets have the mec keep screwing around and talk about flows to waste time.
Did you hear EDV is getting a flow everyone?

IFF you have an extra 6-7 years to spare. Not everyone does.
Sad to say, but you are right. So if there are any young (or "old") pilots ready to move to the next step in your career (regional), unless DAL/EDV change things quickly and get serious about career progression, you would be wise to apply at AA feeders w/ a flow. It's a multi million dollar guaranteed pay day right from the gate. No games, no silly job fairs, no over priced consulting firms, and no hoops to jump through. The road is free of obstacles; RJ FO to Wide body Captain. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. So choose wisely - your entire career depends on it...my 2 cents.

I would have considered other options as well. Either I wasn't alert to the possibility of this concept when entering the regional job market, or this is a new development with Delta (probably the former I suspect). Shame that with something as important as our careers, the system has to be gamed through guessing and jumping ship regional to regional. Go get some currency with a regional, they said. What they didn't say is that the mainline hiring process has become hyper-competitive and military experience is really only a silver bullet if you are a young recently separated mid or junior grade officer. For retirees, choose your regional wisely because it may be your last stop.

Sorry I wasn't around to do something about slavery and oppression back then but I can voice my opinion from the discriminatory practices created by mainline for their greed that we are suffering from today.

Exactly jethikoki. What breezy doesn't get is we are trying to do something about it by raising our standards.

So like I said, quit whining about what mainline DID and focus on what you can DO. Delta Pilots have resoundingly rejected regional scope relaxation. I know a few United pilots who would do the same. Yes, what happened sucked for a lot of people but sewing division amongst pilot groups will get all of us nowhere.
