So what's the estimated SF3 upgrade time now a days?

Still sittin' at 24 months isn't it? I think they are still trying to upgade 4/month. The only thing that will make it go down is the new aircraft (similar to 2 years ago) and an increased rate of pilots leaving - which stays pretty steady. Ask that again in 12 months and we may be hiring into the left seat, again.

Hey Guys,

I interviewed last October, and didn't get the gig. I have been updating my app on airlineapps.com. Do they want people to reapply in 6 months? or is it 3?...

Thanks,
Lax

It's probably closer to 20 months right now. 3 of the guys in my base are going to upgrade in mar or april and they are mar-may 05 hires. THe 3 new saabs and the 15 Q 400's will bring it down considerably. THey said on the conference call last week that they are going to staff the q 5 to 1 initially. THat equals 75 captains, 75 FO's, and 150 FA's for that airplane alone. As per the conference call, they will start staffing the q400 in Aug to have crews available to do the proving runs. THat will open up a lot of slots on the saabs, and a few on the beech. THey said that upgrade classes starting in may-jun for the saab will go up to 14-20 per class to meet the demand. THey are running 2 new hire classes a month right now to get enough FO's online to fill the void for attrition and the meet the need. THe first big group of newhires is at the sim right now. Another is in systems, and another class starts today.

THey may need to hire off the street if it gets bad enough, but they'd much rather upgrade an FO with time in type. I'd guess that the 2200 hrs TT will be gone by this summer due to sheer demand. THe CP said it last week on the conference call "Get some open time and get your hours up, we will need a lot of captains real soon. Be ready."
