How are they going to be doing the transitions into the Q400?

Also, supposedly some Beeches were going soon, but an FO said all 11 were still online.

I wonder how the sloppy managment is going to award the slots to the Q400, being they don't upgrade based on seniority. At Colgan its more like the more you kiss ass and let them short you pay and dont complain when you work on your days off, the quicker the upgrade. I flew with a CA who upgrade 6 months before anybody else in his class (still FO's) You sure you want to work at that company. Besides the Beech CA's will be going over to the SAABS, so I wouldnt plan on them hiring street CA, or any "11 month upgrades" Dont forget ..........any company that hires street Captains is not a place you want to be.

I think most of the street captains are gone or are on the way out. They were just there to start up the flying and didn't plan on staying. It increased the flying for Colgan right away for the rest of the pilots and then opened seat up when the street people left.

THey haven't decided how they are going to move crews over to the q yet. THe beeches are staying for the year as of right now. THey have been doing a good job of sticking to the senority list for upgrade. THe only exception is that is someone was hired as a 500 hr wonder, and they dont meet the mins, they will get passed over.

Thats good there was some pretty miserable guys that kept getting passed up for upgrade, but it makes you wonder I mean seniority allows for people to upgrade that have no place in the left seat, I guess thats why more than a few bust upgrade

They'll start at the top and try to find 75 CA's! then they'll start with current F/O's (who will have to decide to upgrade in the SAAB or not) and try to find 75 of them! When they CAN'T do that they will hire into the Q400 - into the left seat if necessary.
Here's the problem...The top 175 on the list are CA's - most on the SAAB, and most will not want to commute to EWR for a $10 raise! I've already posted what I would do it for. That leaves the rest - 100 FO's who want to upgrade in the SAAB because they have been here for a year or more and then 75 who are not close to upgrade, but know they will get closer when the dust settles! How you squeeze 150 pilots out of that to commute to EWR is way beyond me!!
I expect to see the ad on Climto350 very soon!! - BCD

You kidding COLGAN will have no problem finding CA's for the Q400, hell if MESA could find CA's for the Dash 8-100's in no time at all, just imagine how easy it will be to hire street CA's for that big shiny Turboprop ( of which COlgan will have MEL'd and all trashy looking in no time)

I have a feeling if Saab's mother said Colgan was a semi-decent company, he would slit her throat right then and there.
