How dare anyone says anything bad about PSA!!
Currently it is not a flow. For a new hire at PSA it is 20 years to obtain an interview at AA and you can't go around this. Unless PSA gets an actual flow and/or a higher number of AA interviews per month it is what it is.
PSA has a lot going for it. Quick upgrades and a lot of growth but your "flow" is not something to be proud of or something to defend. That is how it is right now. Of course things change but to base a decision on what might happen with regards to AAG is foolish.

You are missing the point entirely. This forum is becoming increasingly useless, with people just waiting to pounce on others behind every corner. Everything is derogatory and ill willed. This is supposed to be an online community not a cyber boxing ring. If you want to help perpetuate this shameful state, then by all means go ahead, but I will continue to try and make the forum more functional.

The updated flow language is currently being worked on and we should see the results in a couple of weeks, it won't be a 20 year wait for new hires. AAG doesn't want any pilot to stay longer than 8 years at any wholy owned to keep their labor costs down. Like billyho said, even if it was 20 yrs nothing stops you from going to another major after you get to the left seat quicker than any other carrier.
At the moment classes are being filled so there is no need to increase flow. Maybe in 2 years after the music stops, management will reassess and adjust the flow. But I can guarantee you that their priority is to keep the cheap labor handcuffed to their regionals.

I think he was being facetious. I agree 2500 hours is plenty to upgrade. However I don't agree with someone having no time in the equipment upgrading after 30-40 hours. If you have 10k hours with a few types then it's another story. But someone with min requirement is still trying to figure things out, so putting him/her in an unfamiliar type, in a new company, different routes and airports is a bad combo. Unless you're super pilot, then you're good to go!

Oh and I wouldn't hold my breathe for our SSP. Worst rumor I've heard is keep it at 4 a month but turn it into a flow. So essentially, we're saving the company the time and resources for the useless interviews that are more of a courtesy than screening.
