"I have been in the industry since 1994. WE at Comair went on strike back in 2001 for 89 days to get a decent contract. It was industry leading. Chautauqua agreed to a contract a few months later that under cut our gains. 9-11 did have an impact on that I will concede. But my point is all pilot groups since then have had to deal with the main lines pay to play scheme. It started many years before the PSA pilots agreed to their contract. Many. many years. So when you say we have "ruined it' for every one else think back to what may of been if Chautauqua, then Eagle and the rest had been able to attain Comair plus 1%. "

My point was it has been going in this direction since after we signed that contract. PSA did not all of the sudden sign a concessionary contract out of the blue. Market forces going back years is what has brought us to where we are today.

27 start Monday. Rumor of possible street captains in the near future. Upgrade times are looking at dropping to 18-24 months.

Why hire street captains when a lot of the guys here have a good amount of 121 time?

That list will soon run out, anyone hired within the last year and a half won't have it unless they came from elsewhere

Is hiring street captains a way to temporarily save a regional that nobody wants to go to because everyone is chasing that precious 1000tpic?

She's done this with other guys at different company's as well. I nominate her for Tool of Month.

PSA is not having trouble filling classes at this point. Did you even read the rest of the thread?

I don't know where this rumor came from. I haven't heard it.(which doesn't mean it's not true)

We have plenty right now with the requisite 121 time to upgrade.

At the current pace of upgrades it would take probably 6 months or so to get to some very low longevity guys. During that time more and more pilots are going to reach the required time.

There are also a pretty hefty amount of senior FOs bypassing upgrade right now for vacation or not wanting to be on reserve.

What's the story with base seniority? Can somebody rank them in order of seniority? How soon before a new guy can hold a line in CLT?
