Default Rules for Opt out of Forced Capt Upgrade

Is there an LOA for the forced upgrades, or is that part of the same document with the new reserve rules? It appears that the company is burning through the seniority list pretty quickly so wondering what are the "excuses" that are valid for opting out?

You really gotta be hoofing it on $40/hr to have $69/hr be a pay cut.

LOA 10 is on your company iPad in the LOA subfolder of the ALPA section.

Don't mean to drastically change the subject of the thread, but you said PSA's new reserve rules are out? Care to share what they are? Thanks!

Thanks, was looking in the wrong place for that. Glad it allows for marriage, birth and adoption but wondering what would happen if training happened during kids college graduation? I wasn't too worried but the last set of forced upgrades seemed to be moving down the seniority list much faster, and the timing looks like it could hit about that time next year. Maybe they would let you skip a class and take the next one?

The number of people bypassed suggests a pretty liberal practice in granting exemptions. They’re clearly well past the flow/retirement crowd

It seemed like that to me as well. Maybe if they come up with those pay and reserve changes for captains the forced upgrades will come to an end. Either that or I need to start working on getting that marriage, birth or adoption thing going??? Just kidding of course.

Dude, I've been adopted 3 times and married twice since the upgrades started. I'm all about that top of the seniority list QoL...
