Hotels and 24hr per diem until your RLDs.

Default Voluntary Forced domicile move conditions

So, the forced CA upgrades started around December or January, for anyone who was sent to an outstation or voluntary forced to move domiciles, were you on reserve and how long? Were you able to bid back to your desired/original domicile and how long did it take? Are you now holding a Round 1 or 2 line and staying there until you can get off reserve in your original domicile? IF on Round 1 are there many lines to choose from on the SAP? I would assume if this is the case, you are commuting either a one or two leg commute for each trip.

Just curious what life is like for those voluntary forced to upgrade and move to a different domicile. Thanks.

The most junior R1 lines in the system are 2.5 years at ORF and 3+ years everywher else.

The most junior R2 lines are 1.5 yrs in DCA and close to 3 years everywhere else. (Look at the "base update" thread post on 5/23).

The forced upgrades have mostly been in the 2 yr seniority range. More than that earler, down closer to 18 months with the last bid.

So the folks getting force upgraded are looking at 6-12 months on SCR at an outstation. Nobody is getting lines or SAP anytime soon.

Thanks, Zero. Looks like this is being discussed in the P'cola thread.

Default Latest Bluestreak

So looks like you can have a personal situation accounted for if you have a change of mind on upgrade training, but not for forced upgrade training. Check out the bold print in the Bluestreak article.

Get ready FO's, the latest forced upgrade award is nearing the 18 month seniority point. (Hired in late 2016)

So, just a question. For those of you that are about to or did get Junior manned and forced to upgrade, why not just go to another carrier that has a huge sign on bonus for DEC? (Envoy) Seems that if you're going to get forced to upgrade, might as well make a lot of money to do it. Still get flow (though now you'd be at the bottom of the list), American travel benefits, etc. What am I missing?

Allegedly Envoy won’t pay the DEC bonus to other WO’s making the jump. Read it for the first time on here so not sure how much truth there is to that.

I have heard a few have left to other airlines. Also if you’re being forced to upgrade that would mean you’re somewhere around the middle of the seniority list. While most of those people have only been here 2 years that’s still a good amount of seniority to give up. I would say for anyone that’s been here less than a year there’s not much to lose by leaving. You’ll be hired somewhere long before your flow number comes up. Also, i think a lot of the new hires lately live in one of our outstation bases. Some are probably worried about having to pay back the signing bonus. Although, in my opinion, even if you had to pay back the entire amount you would still come out ahead after a year if you went to Endeavor, Republic, or somewhere with a crazy captain bonus.

I did the math right after my one year anniversary - even with repaying half the sign bonus I would have been money ahead to go to 9E as an FO, let alone upgrade...

I tried to have a little faith that all the rumors of 4 LoAs ready to be signed "soon".

8 months later and crickets... I should have went...

Have you had the forced upgrade yet, and the forced voluntary domicile move?
