As someone considering PSA with no prior 121 (and thus potentially two years of time building before eligible for forced upgrade) I have to ask -- are there any provisions to terminate these forced upgrade rules, either based on calendar time or refilling of the CA pipeline?

First, it only takes 1.5 years on property to reach 1000 hours, not two. In theory, if there is enough people able and willing to upgrade there will not be a need to force upgrades.

Yeah look at the seniority list and run the numbers. make some conservative attrition estimates. They're done strip mining the ranks of senior FO's. It's going to be up or out until the next downturn.

That's what started this thread . . . they are working down the seniority list quickly and it appears that a fair number of Senior FO's are getting to OPT OUT . . . ( just hoping to get to go to kids college graduation in December and cruise/vacation with A7 we planned afterwards . . . but that type thing doesn't meet the criteria and if on reserve (no SAP) it won't be possible.) So to answer the earlier question, it doesn't appear that there is an ending date or conditions to the forced upgrade agreement.

count the number of senior FO’s left and divide by 30. That’s not a lot of months of upgrade classes. Reasons to bypass are only of minor relevance. Even if they take everyone ASAP it won’t be enough. Doesn’t take many months of training 30 captains and losing 25 to drain the well.

I haven't followed it closely, but when I've looked at the awards, it seems fewer than half of the positions are senior assigned.

Its very tempting to say the least.
Positive space and paid hotels are only for the first three months after completing IOE.

You will be on reserve perhaps 6-7 times that long at least as a street captain joining right now.

The Envoy LOA was more tailored towards getting the seniorish FO’s out of hiding on reserve to upgrade, perhaps sit one bid cycle at LGA and transfer back to their original domicile.

Yes I was aware of the 3 month deal you are correct.

How long to bid out of LGA?

Me personally I'd collect my bonus money and when the 3 months was up dip out on military orders not everybody has that option but I could make it work, I got 18 months of orders waiting on me with a one year window to start them

Sorry, what is this about 3 months? First I've heard of it. Does this mean we'll have hotels in our base paid for after IOE? I was under the impression that lodging in my "base" was on my dime when IOE ends.

We are talking about the recent Envoy LOA here which pertains to new CA awards, nothing to do with PSA to avoid any confusion.
