One other regional airline pilot group recently voted in a contract hastily and now they're probably wishing they didn't do so. I would hope that we would not commit the same errors.

I don't think you have a SAP with PBS. Anything that hits the pot that you would want would have already been awarded to you in the line construction. Everyone is senior to the open time pot, so how can anything you want bypass you and end up in it?
Unless PBS ignored your request to honor the company's request, then the company is going to let you SAP and undo the reasons PBS ignored your request in the first place?

If something does come to a vote, here is something interesting to remember. Only 274 pilots on the list (minus another 30 or so that have already flowed) were hired before 2014. Since 2014, there are over 1000 pilots on the list.
There are 630 that were hired in 2014 and 2015 alone and on the list still. I am sure that they MEC knows this, and will try to create something accordingly.

Your MEC (CA & FO Reps) are only quiet if you do not reach out to them. I know each and everyone of them personally and they are more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Hell, reach out to me and I will give you what ever answers I can. (Speaking for myself) I cannot reach out to 1200 pilots individually. The turnout at the local events and voter turnouts speak volumes about our pilot group. (Not speaking of you personally), but a healthy dose of reality would go a long way to educate. Yet, others on public forums flourish. Reality is seldom as interesting and rumor. Respectfully, Michael 39%

A PBS eliminates open time and split trips resulting from training and vacation and any other conflicts that are known before the PBS starts. You wouldn't have split trips in the SAP with a PBS. The amount of SAP open time would be dependent on contract language (or whatever the company decides if contract language does not exist) with a PBS.

I know it's been asked, but I can't find it...
Is there contractual language that says interviewing at mainline negates the opportunity to use the flow? Is the flow part of the CBA, or whatever contract the pilot group is on, or is it a 'bonus'?
I'm years from crossing this bridge, so I'm sure it will change before I have to make the decision. Heck, maybe the flow will come down to 4 years and I can make the 2021 seniority sweet spot at mainline, haha.

Interviewing at mainline would not disqualify you from the flow.
