I'm about 3 months from interviewing, just curious how long before current situation changes for better or worse.

Thanks!
I think we have another 7 years or so on this contract, but that means very little. We have gotten several bonuses, benefit increases, and other good things in the last 2 years. I would expect more changes for the better in 4 months or less.

So far, we got:
All FO's start on year 3 pay
FO New Hire Bonuses
FO Retention Bonuses
CA Retention Bonuses
Profit Sharing
Commuter Hotels
2 free airline tickets on AA

and maybe some more things that I have forgotten.

I don't want to be a negative Nancy here, but I have to point out that all the things you listed that I have highlighted in red have not been added to our contract. If they have not been added to our contract they can be taken away at the company's pleasure or displeasure.

Commuter hotels or reimbursement? I know Piedmont gives commuter pilots 4 hotels per month (2 in PHL), but I thought PSA just reimbursed you. Also, I believe the 2 free tickets on AA was for people on property prior to July 1. I don't think it's being offered to those hired today.

We get $3000 per year ($250 per month) to spend as we please. It can be 5 nights at a $50 hotel, or one night at a $250 hotel.

The AA tickets were for people on property, mainly because it was an incentive for those already here.

I am not one to complain about free stuff, especially when we are not giving anything up to get it.

My comment was that it really doesn't matter what the contract says if the company agrees to pay us more than what is in the contract and provide us better benefits.

I can not imagine the company backing down from any of these, and expect them to increase even more. Don't you?

I think the only direction for pay, is up. And if the rumors are true that the union is getting close to negotiating with the company, I would expect that a few QOL items would improve also. Not because I think the company is feeling generous all of the sudden, but because I think they realize these are things that will help recruiting and also help retain people that are already here.

It's because they want PBS. I really hope this group isn't fooled that 100% DH and 4:15 minday is worth going to PBS.
Does anybody else find it infuriating that they are negotiating such a large deal and we haven't even seen an opener?

Is that what's being negotiated? I don't know much about PBS, but I'd be ok with it as long as we can still SAP after the award. PBS and no SAP is a no vote from me unless I'm getting LIFE CHANGING pay and/or QOL improvements. For me...SAP alone is life changing. So if the company wants to take it away they're going to have to give us something life changing in return. 100% DH and 4:15 min day is no where near life changing. That might give me 2 hours more credit per month at best.

Yeah, if the union agrees to anything that would duck up sap, I'm gone. I'm always looking, but it will definitely expidite my search. Mainline pay and a seniority number, sure. Otherwise, sap better be off the table.

I don't think you have a SAP with PBS. Anything that hits the pot that you would want would have already been awarded to you in the line construction. Everyone is senior to the open time pot, so how can anything you want bypass you and end up in it?
Unless PBS ignored your request to honor the company's request, then the company is going to let you SAP and undo the reasons PBS ignored your request in the first place?

Like I said, I don't know much about PBS, but wouldn't there still be flying left over that they couldn't construct a trip with? Not as much leftover as with line bidding since apparently it is more efficient, but I would think there would still be some kind of leftovers.
