The ATP-CTP course does not prepare you to take the written. That is how the course is designed by the FAA. All of the studying for the ATP-CTP written is done on your own.

Sheppard is the way to go.

You will complete 7 days of course, then take the written exam on the next day. Once you pass the written, you are flown home for a few days off and then start the FO Ground School the following Monday.

I just sent an email to the HR person that sends the emails out to confirm, but I am pretty sure that we do not send out study material. You are responsible for the written test, we just provide the course for free that allows you to take the written test.

(I am pretty sure that is how it works. I'll let you know if that changes.)

For ATP class you don't get any study material. To have to get it on your own. For indoc they send you study material via email around one week before you go to DAY.

Granted you don't need study material for the actual class. Just Sheppard air for the written...

Anyone know why they wait until 1-2 weeks before class for memory/limitations? Why not give it as soon as possible so that they have more time to memorize and prepare?

Thanks

It only takes a few days to memorize it, and you don't even need to know it on day 1.

If you didn't even get the study materials, you wouldn't be behind at all.

There is plenty to study and review on your own that is far more important. Review the FARs, review instrument procedures, review weather. The limitations and memory items are just a small piece of what you should be reviewing.
