So I saw this posted in the recruiter thread. Is this normal? Does this happen a lot?

Usually, when a union or an "association" in our case, can't get a the company to come to the table and resolve long standing issues they usually do something along these lines. Pretty par for the course.

Just a negotiating tool. There are some issues that need to get fixed that will cost the company some serious money. The company is delaying, and the Union is forcing their hand.

Few questions about training:

-I was told ground school is 5 weeks in Dayton. How are the 5 weeks broken down? I assume 3 weeks in system? If so, Indoc for 2 weeks??? That's seems like a long time for Indoc so I assume I'm missing something.

-How is class seniority decided? Age or ?

-Jumpseat home possible during weekend? Badge and KCM when?

-Systems/Oral: is it working knowledge or do we need to build a plane?

-Are are the sim partner decided?

Cheers!

1 week of indoc, 6 days of systems, an inexplicably placed 2 days of CRJ 200 differences, then about 2 weeks of IPT's. Three days of what can loosely be described as oral prep So it's about exactly a month. Some instructors are good, some honestly don't need to be teaching. Many in my class were frustrated by the fact that the instructors seemed to "wing it" during IPT's and didn't really follow the syllabus which does a good job of laying a solid foundation on the flows and procedures. If you're experienced in the CRJ, jumping around is frustrating but ok, if you're not it's a VERY arduous and exasperating experience IF your instructor doesn't follow the syllabus. I've been through 2 121 training programs and I wasn't impressed with the IPT portion whatsoever. It would have been nice to have been offered the opportunity to do instructor critiques like we received in indoc and systems in an effort to improve things. I guess that's why the IPT sessions are in the state that they're in. I think the sessions are super valuable, but the quality needs to dramatically improve. Again, I want to reiterate that this was my own experience and other people's mileage may have varied. It's really luck of the draw. My advise would be to pick a sim partner at a similar experience level to you because some instructors can't seem to handle two different experience levels.

Seniority is based on age

You'll be able to non-rev 16 days afterwards. Badge is given towards the end of systems, and KCM is after mock oral just before the real oral.

Oral is based upon working knowledge, just know your stuff. I'm working on a Quizlet set to help prepare for the oral. If you put in the work it's a non event to those who prepare.

Sim partners are based on personal preference subject to the needs of the company.

Edit: oops. I didn't mean to post in this area. I am going to stay primarily in the "Recruiter" thread.
Any chance they may extend this as I'm about to do interviews literally in the next week or so and I can't make the June 19th class obviously. That'll suck to miss it by a class or two. Oh well I guess.

Yeah! I'll go and tell them to hold off for another week.

This is coming from AAG, and not PSA. I doubt they will extend it any more for us. They already opened it up to employees that were not ever working here in 2016 for which we earned the award.

It would be a nice yearly benefit. Who knows moving forward.
