lol, JayBee that's some funny stuff right there.
In truth, I don't think anyone even knows, including scheduling. There are changes we'd love to see to the process, that's for sure. If you're going to be a new FO and willing to go to one of the bases with quick times to Round 1, it won't be much of a big deal for you. Just grin and bear it.
Now, the Street Captains that came here a year ago and are still on reserve, they might have different advice for you.

I get the short and long call reserve (SCR/LCR). What do BU and R1 in the chart mean? What is the LCR call-out?
What does an average FO line look like(non-reserve)? Mostly 4-day trips, or a mix?
One more, is averaging 85+ hours credit time feasible?
Hopefully those aren't to general or too dependent on crew base to say. Also, sorry if these were recently answered in the painfully slow old thread.

BU is Build up lines- lines made up of leftovers after R1. Also called R2, and the less desireable pairings/overnights/efficient etc..., but not reserve.
LCR is a 12-hour notice, vs. 2 for SCR.
Not having held a line yet, I can only tell what I've seen in FLICA: Most lines are 4 days, 3 off, average. Throw in a 3 day or 2 off here and there. Other mixes too. I saw one line that was 3 or 4 out & back days (begin and end in base each day) for 3 of 5 trips for the month. Total credit goes as high as about 95 hrs. and I don't recall any less than 75. So, depending on how more senior ppl bid (some bid max days off, best overnights, or whatever suits their wants/needs) hours are available, once you have the seniority to hold it.

TYS probably has the highest percentage of lifer Capts, and it's been slowly shrinking as well. Leaves not as much space on the bottom of the TYS CA list for a lot of movement.

So that being the case, would it be reasonable to base at TYS as FO through getting to R-1. Then consider moving to another base for faster upgrade to CA, or just stay put. Since I live close by Knoxville , just considering all strategies. CLT or CVG would be a commute

I have a Rotor Transition Program interview with PSA coming up and was curious to hear from anyone else who may have already blazed that trail, specifically about the technical portion. I've gotten the gouge from aviationinterviews.com but 90% of those questions are fixed wing/civil regs and 100% of my time is military helicopters. I'm just curious how much cramming I may or may not have to do to try to learn as much fixed wing and civil regs before my interview. Thanks in advance!

I am considering PSA and was wondering what a typical start time for a PM R1 line is, or is it such a wide range nothing is typical? (I am just trying to get an idea how hard it would be to commute in to DCA, to start a line, if I did not arrive until 12:56 p.m.)

However, the commuter clause requires you to have two chances to get to work before your trip starts, so unfortunately you can't rely on just the earliest departure out of whatever outstation you're commuting in from.

I would imagine that there will be plenty of trips that would start later than that.

Is the insurance pretty good at PSA? (any idea how much it would cost to insure a family of 4.)

If you have ANY previous civil experience in FW, you'll still take the technical. For the guys like me (and maybe you) that have NO previous FW experience.....the technical portion is removed. Study the gouge (cliff notes) at airlineinterviews.com and you'll be fine.
What they want to see, and the line most often quoted around here, is "can they handle being in a cockpit with you for 4 hours a day over a 4 day trip." Basically are you giant annoying douche or annoying or boring, etc.
