You don't necessarily "need" a blazer immediately. You must wear an outer coat during the winter months, and then nothing is required during the spring and summer.

You can probably get out with $200-$250. They will pay for the first uniform and deduct it from your paycheck over the next year, so $20/month. Pretty cheap.

After 1 year, you get $400 to use as you want. You can buy through the uniform supplies or you can pay out of pocket and submit for a reimbursement.

Awesome. Thank you for your reply. Does PSA provide any reimbursement for luggage?

$400 per year to buy anything required. Luggage, uniforms, whatever. It does roll over if you don't use it.

People familiar with the policies:
Is it permissable to purchase uniforms from other-than-company vendors?

Also, is there company allowance for uniforms, luggage, etc? I'm sure I read somewhere that there is, but is that allowance only if you use company approved vendors, or can you get reimbursed should you go your own way?
You can buy from outside vendors. The outer coat and sweater just have to be black with the coat being a 3/4 length.

I have a London Fog 3/4 Rain Coat with a winter down zip in. I have the ACutAbove pants on order.

I tried the cut above pants and like them better than the AA vendors, although they currently don't make them any smaller than 32" waist. The cut above shirts are far and away better.

Do the cut above colors line up pretty good with the official uniforms?

Absolutely indistinguishable other than the quality. Plus you can order to any pant length, so you don't have to get them hemmed or anything.

Shoes? Seems they’re what wear out the most, with all the terminal walking, de-ice fluid, salt, etc. The way I read the policy, they don’t say shoes, but, has anybody been able to get reimburssed for shoes? They are a required uniform item. (as well as underwear, actually. ;D )

I wear Clark's, but everyone i talk to swears by Eccos for some reason. Clark's are cheaper. Some people get slip ons because occasionally an out station will make you take your shoes off, but I'd say those are pretty few and far between, and I can never find slip ons that fit well. Might just be me though.

And yea, you cab get reimbursed for shoes, luggage, pretty much anything you use while on a trip

Shoes are not eligible for re-imbursment.

PSA just added additional seats in the upcoming ATP-CTP classes, so there is no longer a wait to start class. If you was wanting to start class soon, there are seats available in all upcoming classes. Classes start every other week.
