The Marriot has a good rate for PSA pilots $65ish I think but they don’t usually have rooms available Mondays and Tuesdays in my experience. Double tree is good too (airline employee rate) $91 out the door though.
If you’re looking for something cheaper, the Microtel is passable in a pinch. Still $50ish out the door but no where near the quality of the other two.

Sartorial question here:

For those of you with the zipper cardigan (the $75 lighter weight one, not the expensive heavyweight one), how do you find it fits/wears?

I have always been in-between a Medium and Large in most clothes, and was wondering if this is a slimmer cut or more of a classic cut. I don't want it to be baggy, but I also don't want it skin-tight over the shirt.

If it helps, I wear the 42R Slim cut blazer and generally wear Medium tailored dress shirts.

Unusual question, I know, but I don't want to deal with the pain of exchanging as that took forever on my initial clothing issue last year.

Thanks!

Don't get the uniform cardigan. It's toxic and a POS for the money you pay. Just go to Kohls, Dillards, Target, etc.... and get one that looks professional. I have a Chaps Black full zipper from Kohls for $40. I also use a London Fog overcoat. Haven't heard a single thing from the CP and I've talk to him several times while wearing the mentioned items.

I actually disagree. Maybe you’re allergic to something, but I’ve found the full zip cardigan to be amazing. I’m 5’9 165 and I wear the small. Sounds like a M would probably work best for you. I think if I had the M it would be a bit baggy and draped over my pants, so I wanted to keep a clean look.

I'm 6'3, 195, so I can't make up my mind... Just realized I could probably just order both and return one.

I’d probably go with a large. Honestly though, it is fairly warm and really comfortable.

Do you really want them treating you like a FA and policing you? There's a CA in CLT sporting a soul patch and another with a faux hawk. I'am sure they think the same thing. Just follow the rules, how is that not enough guidance? Why should they have to tell you anything?

Exactly. Just be a professional and do what you are supposed to do.

Why make a bad name for yourself because of stupid things?

While we're talking about the uniforms:
Recent FO's, what was your start-up cost on the uniforms?

People familiar with the policies:
Is it permissable to purchase uniforms from other-than-company vendors?

Also, is there company allowance for uniforms, luggage, etc? I'm sure I read somewhere that there is, but is that allowance only if you use company approved vendors, or can you get reimbursed should you go your own way?

- Use whatever pilot shirts you want - no need to get AA shirts.
- Buy 2 pairs of pants. Supposedly ACutAbove is going to have our version of the pants.
- Buy 2 ties, 1 belt, and 2 sets of epaulet "sliders"

You don't necessarily "need" a blazer immediately. You must wear an outer coat during the winter months, and then nothing is required during the spring and summer.

You can probably get out with $200-$250. They will pay for the first uniform and deduct it from your paycheck over the next year, so $20/month. Pretty cheap.

After 1 year, you get $400 to use as you want. You can buy through the uniform supplies or you can pay out of pocket and submit for a reimbursement.
