In today's economic setting and the state of the airline indusrty, I don't understand why we are even talking about conssessions. Which giving up SAP most certainly is. We should be demanding that it continued to be improved upon and not trading it away for something that benifits the company and only the most senior of the pilot group. To be honest, our MEC shouldn't even entertain the removal of SAP or negotiating it to some lesser form. Endeavor raised the bar to a new level without giving up anything why the hell would we? I think our MEC underestimate's the value of SAP to our pilot group. I was talking with one of our union reps a few weeks ago and all he could tell me and the other crewmember was how much more efficient PBS would be for the company and our schedules and continued to try to sell the benifits of it to us. When I told him I wasn't interested in PBS, his response was that it didnt matter to me anyway since I couldn't vote yet because I haven't completed probation. I had to laugh. Yep, unless the vote is held within 3 months I won't have a say in it, but if it's after that, my vote will be a big ducking "NO!" Again, Endeavor just set a new standard if their TA passes. Either make continued improvements in compensation and qol, or see our prospective pilot pool dwindle.
There open time is 150%, but if you get awarded a 11 or 12 day off line where are you going to put it in your schedule with no trading. Plus their open time pot is smaller because PBS forces so much flying on their pilots.
They also have 5 day trips and can be awarded a single day off, and aren't required to have two blocks of 3 or one of 6.
Our MEC has absolutely no idea what they're talking about reguarding PBS, it sucks. The Pinnacle CAs that remember PBS not being bad, are comparing it to round 2 or rsv, not RD1.
And I think only year 3 FO's get two weeks vacation at Endeavor, they just make it sound better by saying "after 2 years of service", and their year 1 peeps might not get anything.
Our union ppl are so smart they think they're gonna write all these QOL protections into the rules and it will protect the pilots fears of getting screwed. What will happen is they'll realize that PBS can't function with all those rules and you'll end up with undeserible trips because it had to honor the rules for everyone else down the line.
Just remember with PBS, "either your not senior enough, or you didn't bid correctly". Those are the only two reasons it's not wonderful for you, and btw expect to hear that the rest of your time here.

Contract Question
Still a fairly new guy here, but I had a contract question I can’t seem to get a clear answer on. I just returned from a five month military leave of absence, had a requal PC yesterday, and was just informed I was being given a “build up” for the rest of the month as SCR. I am a R1 line holder in CLT. To my reading and understanding of the contract, I assumed said build up had to be comprable to what your seniority would have held. Clearly, I understand it’s difficult to build a line of flying for 12 days of the month, but I assumed LCR would have to be the minimum here. Any thoughts or clarifications would be much appreciated through response or PM... thanks!
