PSA "Latest & Greatest"

I'm personally not opposed to PBS. My caveat to that is that the company would need to basically hand it over to the union and let them have almost total control over it and our union have people that work on it full time.
That being said, I personally don't see much of a need to get rid of the line bidding we currently have. It works for me and most of the pilots here just fine. I get high credit commutable trips and I'm off every day I want to be off. I just don't see a problem with it from my perspective.

I would entertain pbs if, and only if I am able to get the weekends, holidays, and blocks of time off like the way it currently works. If it works in any way less to our advantage, then it is a consession. If it's a consession then the union better negotiate a minimum of 30 flows a month, hourly rates better then Endeavor, and better reserve rules. In the present state of the industry there is no way we should be giving anything up. The industry will once again revert back to their advantage, and when it does, if we have not been able to move on to the next level, better hope it's a contract we can live with.
Mainline had i think 2 months of trial runs before their PBS system went live.

Our MEC ought not let anything come to the pilot group for a vote that has any kind concession in it...otherwise, they're showing how out of touch they are with the present state of the industry.
AAL depends on PSA...It's time that the the pilot group wakes up to this fact. The tides have turned, and management does not have the upper hand anymore.
I couldn't agree more with your statement quoted above.

Why are we talking about any of this in a public forum? It is all just guesses and "what if's". The company wants PBS so they can stop splitting trips for training and vacations. They are actually trying to limit the number of inefficient trips. Even with that, I am not willing to give up line bidding, and neither are 80% of the pilots on property.
No one here is going to give up anything for nothing, but everything has it's price. I'd sell anything that we have, but for the right price. Things here are pretty good right now. Another 12 upgrades announced today, totaling 280 so far this year. Reserve times are really low, and upgrades are going pretty junior.
We should be getting CA raises soon. If not, attrition to LCA's and majors will continue to be really high. We are sending more to other legacy airlines than we are AA. There are dozens of pilots here that have interviews at other airlines in the next several weeks, and most of those are LCA's or sim instructors.
We have some things that could be better (reserve rules are not the best in the industry, but they could be MUCH worse if you look at what other regionals have), but it could be much worse.

CASS/Commuting
Hey guys I know this might be a bit off topic but I have a question about CASS and our travel profile that I would like answers. On my travel profile the jumpseat says N instead of FDJ is that normal? Feel free to PM me thanks guys.

CASS takes a little longer to kick in (since everything is done by AA, not PSA).

Any TA with a single concession from the pilot group should get a resounding "NO" vote. Now is not the time to give anything up.

Wow...so it's no longer ok for Captains to get displaced and given LCR or less desirable flying, they now get released and pay protected per the MEC's email, but it's still ok for FOs to still get displaced and mistreated. Thought the Union might represent the whole pilot groups best interest...not so much.
