I was under the impression that TYS was a bit of a necessity because they need somewhere to park aircraft near CLT because there isn't enough room in CLT? Who knows I suppose.

Well it says there is no other base to be announced as of right now. A lot of the TYS lines are CLT flying. I doubt the lines will change much except that the flying would just begin and end in CLT instead of TYS. Going to be a lot of commuters to CLT if this happens. A lot of senior CAs in TYS too so I'm sure this will affect some current line holders.

“We are announcing that as of February 1st we are eliminating the Knoxville crew base. This will be further detailed in the upcoming displacement bid to exercise section 8.A.3 displacement rights of category closure. While there is no additional base planned at this time, crew planning will do it’s best to keep you updated, as we understand this effects your lives. We always are actively looking to make sure a base is in its best position, regarding our reliability and operation. Stay tune for any further updates.”

Hahaha. People been saying TYS will close for years. Until I see an email from AC it's just a troll trying to start a rumor.
Hell we tried to start a rumor last week that the construction at E1 was for a new ramp tower.
