I don't think I would ever make a decision in this career based on an airline rumor. If you want to work at PSA plan on commuting.

How's that ORD base working out? Critical pay arbitration was supposed to be complete in pilots favor almost two years ago... how'd that turn out? TYS/CVG closing? We could do this all day. Rumors are fun to kick around but nothing to make career decisions on. The old mantra of don't believe it until you see it definitively applies to our world.

Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

Just be aware that Round 2 is usually the left overs from the SAP, so mostly weekends, with lower time trips, fewer days off during the blend, and only 11-12 days off total. You would spend some of those commuting. Or you might not have time to commute. One day off between two four day trips will not be enough time to commute. Clt FO are still in round 2 up to about 8 months right now. Other bases are getting to Round 1 a little faster.

Default Atp-ctp mia

Watching hurricane Irma, and it looks as if MIA will more than likely get some pretty bad effects from it. How does PSA handle the ATP-CTP courses if the class scheduled for 09/09 gets postponed ? I'm scheduled for 09/21, and I have put in my notice at my current employer...

I'm sure they'll help you out. Although the class is in CVG. Do you live in MIA?

Looks like we are farming out some of the ATP/CTP to CAE in Miami and Dallas. Probably due to the reinstatement of classes being split into 200/700 again (6 people per class getting 200 initially).

I know this has been discussed on here before, but how is PSA coming up with a 6-7 year flow? It seems that even with significant outside attrition, a new hire can expect closer to 15 years if I'm not mistaken. Is there any effort to increase the flow timeline?

They're as bad at math, as they are at spelling. Note that math is required to calculate your paycheck.

The company very recently made up a new way to count, so they could avoid increasing the flow number temporarily.

They love it as a recruiting tool, but they hate it when they are required to comply with it.

Just to let you know, AA has not taken a full 60 a year (which is the minimum) from PSA since the flow has been in effect. AA has to run a class every month till your flow date in order for the flow to be effective. There is no guarantee of them running a class every month. We are obligated to take 60 a year if they do but we never have because AA does not run classes every month. DO NOT COUNT ON THE FLOW.
