This is not true. I get what I want every single month. 16-18 days off with every day/holiday/whatever I need.

I agree with this. I haven't had less than 15 days off this entire year (usually 16-19 days off) and I never have an issue getting the days off I want. The SAP doesn't always work as we would like it too, but it does work. I usually credit around 65 hours with 18-19 days off and if I only want off 16-17 days I can credit 70-80 hours. Buddy of mine in DAY ended up with about 70 hours of credit with 20 days off this month. That's really hard to do and takes a degree of luck but not impossible. Especially with the summer schedules we've had this year. 20+ hour trips are more the norm. I've had more 22+ hour 4 days than not this summer.

Looking into this for someone and have forgotten.. Can a pilot with all ATP hours and other requirements , have an interview prior to completing the multi add on to commercial. Already has commercial single,.... Someone I know is in the midst of getting the add on.
THANK YOU. Also curious about how detailed recuitors are about checking out past employers, would they care if someone left an instructing contract a little early ?

Trying to get a feel for the regionals, just wanted to ask a few questions:
How do you guys enjoy PSA as a whole? Good management, happy people, good QOL?
What is your junior base/platform? How fast do you guys see an upgrade and off of reserve time?
Appreciate it!

PSA overall for me has been a good experience. Our flexibility with the schedule via the SAP (schedule adjustment period) is a great qol tool, pretty much allows you to pick the days you want to work as long as you don't fall below 65 hours. Pay with the bonus is now competitive with just about all other regionals. Junior base's are DAY, CVG, and DCA. Reserve is relatively short in the junior bases, usually only 2 months once you complete IOE. Upgrade times are a moving target, and I would plan anywhere from 18 - 24 months.

As for management, they seem lackluster to me. But at the end of the day they are essentially just "middle management". The overall marching orders come from AA and it's left up to them to carry them out.
Junior bases are DAY, CVG, and DCA. Expect little to no reserve time in those bases. TYS is our most senior base followed by CLT. But reserve times in those bases still aren't very long compared to reserve times at other regional airlines. If you already have the prerequisite time to upgrade you will most likely be able to upgrade in about 3-6 months here in the near future. I don't know if and for how long that trend may last but as of right now we have 150+ FOs bypassing upgrade for one reason or another and the upgrade time is dropping dramatically. If that trend doesn't continue for some reason I would expect roughly an 18-24 month upgrade.

We have several issues, but so does every job. Of every place that I have worked, both in flying jobs and outside of flying, PSA has been my favorite place to work. I show up when I am scheduled (which is only when I want to work), I do my job the way that my bosses want me to do it, and I go home. Period. I get paid well, and I am pretty happy with my benefits. I have called the chief pilots a few times, and have had positive interactions. Same with dispatch. If my request has been legitimate, it has been approved.
There are always people that will complain. Most are prima donnas that have never worked a real job. Put a shovel in their hands and tell them to spend the summer in Georgia digging and they wouldn't last one single day.
PSA has been good for me and my friends. Will it be perfect for you? No. It won't. But in my opinion, it is better than most all of the other regionals out there, depending on where you live.

Quick (rather time-sensitive) Non-Rev question for you guys:
If you get bumped from your planned Flight I know you retain your check-in time/priority for the next flight, presumably putting you above others on the next flight... However, does this only pertain to those in your same tier (D2)? For example, if you get rolled over, you still don't have priority over a D1 if you're a D2 with an earlier check-in time, do you?
My wife might be stranded for a bit if she doesn't get on one of these first couple flights this morning, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to switch her to a D1 if there's only one D1 on the second option.
Any help appreciated.

So she may have several D1's above her on the next one.

Okay, that's what I assumed, but wanted to verify.
So, there are three seats on the planned flight and she's fifth (three D1's, and a D2 in front of her). The later flight has three seats with only a D1 and a D2 listed. I figure if I switch her to a D1 she'll jump to fourth in priority on the first flight (and POSSIBLY have a shot) and then will be second on the second option. Does that seem like a safe bet, even if she loses check-in time priority?
