Forgot to mention something on my medical...
When I was younger I was diagnosed with a stretched retina. According to an optomertrist, I don't have it anymore, (apparantly it's something you outgrow). Since it never gave me any problems, and since I don't have it, I forgot about it during my 3rd class medical.
Do I just let them know the next time I get a medical, or is there some "process" that I have to go through?
Thanks,
Rich

That's right, don't mention it. If you don't have it anymore, then don't say a word. I had a flight student in the past who mentioned a childhood illness that hadn't affected him in 30 years and it took the FAA 8 months to get his medical reviewed. He couldn't fly the entire time as PIC.

All of my medical records from when I was a child no longer exist because I have not had a reason to see a doctor in long time. The only records I have atre the ones from the past 5 years. All of the doctors I saw when I was little have either died or are no longer in practice.

Another word of caution when reporting anything on your medical app: Be careful with the part where it asks if you have visited a health professional within the last few years and asks you to state date and reason for the visit. Once you provide details of your visit the first time, on your next application for a medical just state "as previously reported." A former student of mine made the mistake of reporting the same procedure he had done a second time and the FAA suspended his medical certificate until he completed a questionaire that they sent him and furnished documentation. The AME said that all of that would have been avoided by simply stating "as previously reported"
