I'm about 4 months post custom lasik and it was by far the best money I've ever spent. I went from 20/500ish to 20/15 in both eyes with no post procedure issues whatsoever.
Do your homework and go to a reputable doctor. Don't expect to pay $299 an eye and have a top notch procedure done. I paid 4K for both eyes.

If you're a good candidate for LASIK, then the procedure is succesful around 98% of the time. Good candidates for LASIK are people who:
1 Are at least 18 years old.
2 Have had stable vision for at least one year.
3 Had no eye infection or injury within the past year.
4 Have no scarring on the cornea.
5 A LASIK candidate may not be nursing or pregnant on the date of surgery.
6 Individuals with dry eye syndrome are not good LASIK candidates.
7 Individuals with pupils that dilate beyond seven millimeters in the dark are not good candidates for LASIK.
